Who are family carers?
Unpaid carers are individuals who provide care for a family member, friend, or neighbour with a disability, a long-term illness, mental health condition, or other needs without financial compensation.
A significant number report feeling depressed, anxious, lonely and often do not have time to look after their own physical health needs.
Most provide support day in, day out and are the backbone of our civil society.
They should be valued.
Created and delivered by a family carer who is also a psychiatrist alongside an ally, a social justice champion and creative, we are excited to provide a platform that encourages conversation, connections and practical advice rooted in lived experience.
